Sarah Stein Elected to Rosenberg Foundation’s Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Rosenberg Foundation announced the election of Sarah Stein, president of Hall Capital Partners, LLC, to its Board of Directors. As a member of the Board, Stein will help carry out the Foundation’s long-standing tradition of bold grant-making to promote human rights and economic inclusion for California’s most vulnerable communities.

“I deeply respect the role the Rosenberg Foundation plays in supporting efforts designed to address the root causes of some of the most challenging problems California faces today,” said Stein. “I’m excited to help support the work of social and economic justice leaders making an impact across the state.”

As president of Hall Capital Partners, Stein oversees the firm’s business development; information technology; and strategy, finance and funds groups, and also serves as a member of its executive and investment review committees. She joined the firm in 2002 and was appointed president in 2012. Previously, she worked in the investment management division at Goldman Sachs & Co., at the Fisher Family Foundation and taught English in Guangzhou, China.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Stein to the Rosenberg Foundation’s distinguished and forward-thinking Board of Directors,” said Timothy P. Silard, Foundation president. “Her philanthropic and business expertise will contribute greatly to our efforts to change the odds for Californians.”

Stein was named a 2011 Rising Star by Foundation & Endowment Money Management. She serves on the San Francisco Foundation’s board and investment committee, the investment committees of the Foundation of California Community Colleges and the Crystal Springs Uplands School, and the Jewish Community Endowment Fund’s endowment committee. She earned an AB in history from Princeton University, an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an MA from Stanford School of Education.
